We’re looking forward to attending the Minneapolis/St. Paul RV, Vacation & Camping Show on Feb. 9 – 12, 2012. We’ve gone to the show for several years now, but our experience this year will be different.
Last year we were in “ready to buy within the next couple of months” mode, so we used the show to narrow down our options to a few models that we’d want to examine in more detail at a dealership or elsewhere, along with price range. We had attended the show at least twice before last year, and had rented a travel trailer in summer 2010 for a trip to the Black Hills.
In a future post I’ll discuss our purchase criteria in more detail, along with our rationale for focusing on the select few that we did.
Since we’re now trailer owners, it puts a different twist on what we’ll want to get out of the show this year. We’ll still want to take a look at some of the new models on display: the Class A motorhomes always provide a top-notch gawking experience as the features and amenities can be pretty amazing.
This year we’ll also want to get info on potential destinations and check out some of the accessories. There’s no shortage of things to see, so we’ll likely spend the better part of an afternoon at the show.
