A look back at our 2012 trips

Blue Bell campsiteIt’s the time of year when it seems appropriate to look back at the past 12 months and take stock of the things we did or achieved. Below is a chronological list of the trips we took in 2012, along with links to related blog posts.

We had some great trips in 2012, but all in all we didn’t get out as much as I hoped. July in Minnesota was beastly hot and unpleasant, and we weren’t too motivated to head out. In August all the state park campgrounds we thought about visiting were fully booked: while it’s good that people were enjoying the outdoors, it kinda sucked for us.

Then, in contrast to the rest of the year, it turned chilly in early October and I decided to winterize the trailer rather than taking a chance on frozen water lines, etc. We brought the trailer to the storage facility on Oct. 28.

Naturally, then, the weather in November was unusually warm and there were a couple of weekends where it would have been nice to get out. Sunova! So it goes…

Scenic State Park, July 1-4: Trip to Scenic State Park near Bigfork, MN
